Members of the percussion section will practice from 12 pm to 4 pm in the band room. Attendance is mandatory unless otherwise approved by Mr. Williams.

There will be a leadership meeting at 6 pm in the band room for those sophomore, junior and senior band members who are interested in leadership positions in the band (including captains and section leaders).

DVD OF FALL PERFORMANCE
If you would like to have a DVD of the fall show, please have your student pick up an order form from Mr. Pigg. The cost of the DVD is $20 (a portion of which is being donated back to the band's general fund) and checks should be made payable to AHS Band Parents.
The 2008 Marching Season has come to a close with the loss to Boaz in the first round of the State Playoffs! A big thanks to Marla Harvey for being the "on the field photographer", and Ron Greer and Carl Smith for submitting candid photos you see each week on the site! Also a big thanks to Carol Galuska for keeping us updated on the latest Band News!

The Athens High School Band is one of the Southeast's most celebrated high school bands! The Athens High School Band has long been recognized for its quality of performance, both on the field and concert stage. Rich in tradition, the Concert Band has participated at the State Band Competition Festival since 1952, receiving more "Superior" ratings than any other band in its class! The Marching Band has won numerous first place awards at parades and field competitions from Miami to Phoenix. The Athens High Jazz Band was organized in 1974 and has received "Superior" ratings at many festivals.
